Samsung Display recently announced the mass production of its “world’s first 34-inch 360Hz QD-OLED panel” utilizing a “V-Stripe” RGB pixel structure. Although the ‘V’ in V-Stripe refers to the vertical orientation of subpixels rather than a literal V shape, Samsung states this structure significantly enhances text edge clarity. This makes it an ideal solution for users who spend a lot of time on text-intensive tasks, such as editing documents, coding, or creating content. Samsung Display has been actively supplying these advanced panels to seven global monitor manufacturers, including ASUS, MSI, and Gigabyte, since December 2025. Meanwhile, LG Display revealed plans to debut the “world’s first 27-inch 4K OLED panel for monitors featuring an RGB stripe structure and a 240Hz refresh rate” at CES in Las Vegas. Historically, LG Display was known for its “WOLED” technology, which incorporated an extra white subpixel or arranged RGB pixels in a triangular pattern. However, the company now asserts that these new RGB stripe panels are specifically optimized for operating systems like Windows and their font-rendering engines, ensuring superior text readability and high color accuracy. It’s worth noting that LG Display is also showcasing “Primary RGB Tandem 2.0” at CES, a separate RGB screen technology. This represents an advanced iteration of their proprietary Primary RGB Tandem technology, which generates light by stacking the three primary colors of red, green, and blue in independent layers.
