The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Kano State has announced a significant agreement with the families of two deceased lawmakers regarding their replacements in the State House of Assembly. This consensus emerged following extensive consultations spearheaded by the party’s national leader, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
State Chairman of the NNPP, Dr. Hashim Sulaiman Dungurawa, confirmed the development in an interview with DCL Hausa, emphasizing that the process was characterized by mutual understanding and respect among all parties involved. Senator Kwankwaso personally convened meetings at his Kano residence, bringing together key party figures and members of the bereaved families to chart a path forward.
“We sat down, talked frankly, and agreed on the process,” Dungurawa stated, highlighting the candid discussions that led to the resolution. The party expressed optimism that the individuals being considered for the vacant seats, Sa’ad Aminu Sa’ad and Nabil Aliyu Daneji, will uphold the public service legacy of their late fathers.
These replacements are intended to fill the void left by the passing of the two lawmakers on December 24, 2025, after separate illnesses. The NNPP is committed to ensuring a transparent and lawful process for selecting and inaugurating the new representatives.
Dungurawa further stressed the party’s dedication to conducting the entire replacement exercise with utmost smoothness and respect for established procedures. All actions taken will strictly adhere to the party’s internal regulations and the relevant electoral guidelines to ensure legitimacy and public confidence.
The NNPP leadership believes that Sa’ad Aminu Sa’ad and Nabil Aliyu Daneji possess the potential to continue the commendable service and dedication that their fathers were recognized for. This sentiment underscores the party’s focus on continuity and maintaining the standards of representation in the Kano State House of Assembly.
