LG has unveiled its latest generation of high-end gaming monitors, the UltraGear evo line, ahead of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). These new displays are distinguished by their striking 5K resolution and the integration of advanced AI upscaling technology, promising a significant leap in visual performance for gamers.
The new UltraGear evo series comprises three flagship models designed to cater to a variety of gaming preferences. The lineup includes the 39-inch 39GX950B, the 27-inch 27GM950B, and the expansive 52-inch 52G930B. Each monitor boasts top-tier specifications, with the model numbers often indicating screen size and key features.
The 39-inch 39GX950B stands out as an ultrawide 21:9 OLED panel capable of a 5K2K resolution. It offers a dual-mode functionality, allowing users to experience its full 5K2K resolution at a smooth 165Hz refresh rate, or switch to a hyper-fast 330Hz for competitive gaming at WFHD resolution.
Another notable addition is the 27-inch 27GM950B, which features what LG describes as “New” MiniLED technology. This innovative backlighting solution is engineered to deliver superior brightness compared to traditional OLED panels, while crucially mitigating the blooming effect often associated with MiniLED displays.
Rounding out the trio is the colossal 52-inch 52G930B, a curved monitor designed to immerse users in a panoramic 12:9 view. This massive display supports a native 5K2K resolution and can achieve an impressive 240Hz refresh rate, ideal for visually stunning and fast-paced gaming experiences.
The 27GM950B model is of particular interest given LG’s established expertise in display technology, including its role in producing panels for Apple’s Pro Display XDR. Industry observers anticipate that this model could represent a significant upgrade for professional users as well.
All three UltraGear evo monitors will be showcased at the upcoming CES event, where further details regarding their pricing and official release dates are expected to be announced. Gamers and tech enthusiasts will be keen to see how these advanced features translate into real-world performance.
