Lagos APC Blasts Amaechi’s 2027 Election Call as “Political Hallucination”

Okay, so the Lagos APC – that’s the All Progressives Congress, just to be clear – they’ve really gone after Rotimi Amaechi. Like, really gone after him. It’s over some comments he made about the 2027 election… basically urging the opposition to, you know, get their act together and challenge President Tinubu.

Amaechi, the former Minister of Transportation, apparently said this at some Electoral Reforms Summit in Abuja. He was talking about getting people to actually vote, right? His point was, and I quote, “When you say the president is invincible, he is not invincible. I’ve worked with him and I know him.” See, he’s trying to motivate people, saying don’t believe the election is already decided. “When you say the results are already written, they are happy to spread that narrative so people won’t come out.” Makes sense, actually.

He even added, and this is a pretty strong statement: “If you come out en masse, nobody will write any results. Nobody will take away the result sheets. Anyone who tries it will only be creating problems for himself.” A bit dramatic, maybe? But, well, you get the idea.

But the Lagos APC? They are not having it. They’ve dismissed Amaechi’s call as a “political hallucination.” Ouch. Their Publicity Secretary, Seye Oladejo, put out a statement, and it’s pretty brutal, honestly.

Oladejo says, basically, that Amaechi is irrelevant. And I quote again, ’cause it’s just…wow: “Amaechi is free to dream, but he must stop mistaking his nightmares for national reality. A man declared political non-Grata wants to lead a national mobilisation?” Non-Grata! I mean…

And then he keeps going! Calling Amaechi “a political orphan disowned in Rivers, irrelevant nationally, and steadily sinking into total oblivion.” Sinking into oblivion! The APC spokesman even wonders who Amaechi thinks he’s going to “mobilise.” His WhatsApp group? Ouch, again.

The APC is painting this as, not a rallying cry, but a “cry for help.” They really want to drive home the point that Amaechi’s lost his influence, his “base,” everything.

So, yeah, basically the message is Tinubu is focused on delivering results – things like NELFUND, CREDITCORP, and foreign investment. They’re saying, and I quote one last time, “While Amaechi is busy trying to resurrect his collapsed career, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is doing the actual work of rebuilding a nation.”

The bottom line, according to the Lagos APC? “2027 will not reward bitterness, betrayal or political tourism. It will reward leadership, courage and results. And Tinubu has all three in abundance.” Big claims, for sure. It’s pretty clear where they stand. Amaechi, according to them, should “first mobilise himself out of political obscurity.” Strong words, very strong words.
