The Borno State Police Command has strongly refuted social media assertions that a primary suspect in the alleged rape of a five-year-old girl was arrested and subsequently released. The command clarified that no such arrest has been made, emphasizing that the individual remains at large.

The petition alleges that the minor was sexually assaulted by a suspect identified as Abdulsalam M. Adakwaki, also known by the alias Yaro, while en route to school.
