Air Peace Shifts Regional Flights to Daytime

Nigeria’s leading airline, Air Peace, has announced a significant shift in its regional operations, transitioning all night-time services to daytime flights. This strategic change, set to take effect on February 2, 2026, aims to enhance passenger convenience and bolster operational reliability across its West and Central African network.

The airline’s management stated that the move is designed to create more competitive schedules that better integrate with domestic, regional, and long-haul departures. This adjustment is expected to improve overall connectivity for travelers, offering smoother transitions for those with onward journeys.

Air Peace spokesperson Efe Osifo-Whiskey detailed the new daytime schedule. Flights on the Lagos–Abidjan–Dakar–Banjul–Dakar–Abidjan–Lagos route will now operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. The outbound flight from Lagos is scheduled for 7:00 am, with the return journey concluding at 9:40 pm.

Services connecting Lagos to Accra, Roberts International Airport in Monrovia, and Freetown will run on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. These flights will depart Lagos at 8:00 am and are expected to return by 7:25 pm. Additionally, daily Lagos–Accra–Lagos flights will continue with morning departures at 7:00 am, supplemented by extra evening services on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

This transition to daytime regional operations is anticipated to significantly improve passenger comfort and the overall travel experience. It is also expected to enhance schedule reliability and on-time performance, offering stronger connections to night-time long-haul departures.

The airline believes this optimized schedule will provide a distinct competitive advantage over other regional and international carriers operating from Lagos. By facilitating smoother travel, Air Peace aims to further support business, government, and leisure travel across West and Central Africa, reinforcing its commitment to intra-African trade, tourism, and mobility.
