LG is set to challenge the gaming monitor landscape at CES 2026 with the introduction of its colossal 52-inch UltraGear evo G9 52G930B. This new display boasts an impressive 5K2K resolution and a rapid 240Hz refresh rate, promising an immersive visual experience.
The monitor features a pronounced 1000R curve, designed to envelop the user within its expansive pixel real estate. A standout feature is LG’s purported “industry-first” 5K AI upscaling technology, which aims to enhance black levels, brightness, and overall resolution for sharper and more engaging gameplay.
Alongside the flagship model, LG is also showcasing the 39-inch UltraGear evo GX9 39GX950B. This OLED variant offers deeper blacks and superior contrast ratios, powered by LG’s Tandem OLED display technology. It also includes a Dual Mode for flexible refresh rate options.
The GX9 allows users to switch between a native 165Hz refresh rate and an accelerated 330Hz at WFHD resolution, catering to different gaming demands. With a 1500R curve, its 21:9 aspect ratio provides a slightly less aggressive curvature than its larger sibling, while a 0.03ms Gray-to-Gray response time ensures minimal input lag.
Rounding out the new offerings is the 27-inch UltraGear evo GM9 27GM950B, a more compact option utilizing mini LED display technology. LG claims its 2,304 local dimming zones and reduced LED gap significantly mitigate blooming, a common issue where light bleeds from bright areas to dark ones.
Similar to the GX9, the GM9 supports Dual Mode refresh rates, offering 165Hz at 5K resolution and a boosted 330Hz at QHD. However, it features a slightly slower 1ms GtG response time. LG’s complete lineup of new UltraGear evo gaming monitors will be on display at CES 2026, with hands-on evaluations expected.
