Senator Ede Dafinone, representing the Delta Central senatorial district, has been recognized by the Urhobo people with an Integrity Award for his “effective legislative representation.” The Urhobo People Integrity Organisation (UPIO) presented the award at a ceremony held in Ekpan, Delta State, acknowledging his significant impact on the Urhobo nation.
This prestigious accolade was bestowed upon Senator Dafinone in recognition of his “immeasurable contributions to the growth and advancement of the Urhobo Nation,” as stated by Olorogun Dr. Ebenezer Okorodudu, the President of UPIO. The organization highlighted his pivotal role in fostering peace and development within the region, underscoring his commitment to his constituents.
A key factor cited for the award was Senator Dafinone’s instrumental role in restoring peace to Okuama Community following a military incident. His dedicated efforts were crucial in mediating and resolving the conflict, demonstrating a profound commitment to community well-being and stability.
Furthermore, the senator’s advocacy was instrumental in securing the release of the Ovie of Ewu Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Clement Ikolo. This achievement further cemented his reputation as a proactive and influential representative, capable of resolving critical issues that affect traditional leadership and community harmony.

The Integrity Award was presented on behalf of UPIO by HRM Clement Ikolo, the Ovie of Ewu Kingdom, whose release was facilitated by the senator. The award was received by Senator Dafinone’s Chief of Staff, Olorogun Barrister Adelabu Bodjor.
