Posters featuring former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi have appeared on major streets in Kaduna, igniting speculation about his potential presidential bid in 2027. The sudden emergence of these campaign materials in key locations across the metropolis has drawn significant public attention.
The posters prominently display Amaechi’s image alongside slogans such as “the only person to be trusted” and “the only man for the job.” These messages are accompanied by appeals for national unity, equality, stability, and development, suggesting a broad political platform.
Residents of Kaduna reported the posters surfacing at strategic points, including Ahmadu Bello Way, Ali Akilu Way, areas surrounding the Kaduna State Government House, and the Kawo Bridge axis, a crucial route connecting to Zaria. The displays have caused noticeable halts in traffic as onlookers pause to observe them.
Specifically, the Kawo Bridge area, a busy thoroughfare, experienced brief traffic disruptions during early morning hours as motorists and pedestrians slowed to examine the campaign materials. This suggests a high level of public interest in Amaechi’s potential political future.
While Rotimi Amaechi, who holds the traditional title of Dan Amanan Kasar Hausa of Daura, has not officially declared his intentions, these posters are being widely interpreted as an early indication of political maneuvering. His previous public service roles include Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly and Governor of Rivers State.
Amaechi was a prominent contender in the 2022 All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary, where he secured the second position, trailing behind the eventual winner, President Bola Tinubu.
