LG is set to debut an innovative modular home audio system, the LG Sound Suite, at CES 2026, featuring the groundbreaking Dolby FlexConnect technology. This new system promises a highly adaptable and immersive audio experience, building upon the initial FlexConnect implementation seen earlier this year. The centerpiece of the suite is the H7 soundbar, powered by LG’s advanced Alpha 11 Gen 3 chip, also found in their latest OLED televisions.
The LG Sound Suite aims to overcome limitations encountered with previous FlexConnect systems. While TCL’s initial offering was restricted to four connected speakers, including a subwoofer, LG’s system dramatically expands this capability. Users can connect the H7 soundbar with up to four surround speakers and a subwoofer, potentially creating a sophisticated 13.1.7-channel audio setup for unparalleled sonic depth.
This new system offers significant flexibility in its integration with existing home entertainment setups. While it is designed to work seamlessly with LG’s 2026 premium TV lineup and select 2025 OLED models like the C5 and G5, it is not strictly dependent on an LG television. The H7 soundbar can function as a “lead device” for the surround speakers and subwoofer with any brand of TV, or even without a television, acting as a standalone audio hub.
LG has emphasized the ease of setup and calibration for its Sound Suite. Similar to other FlexConnect implementations, the system can quickly adapt to a room’s acoustics. After placing and connecting the speakers, a brief audio playback allows the system to automatically detect speaker positions and optimize sound for surround and Dolby Atmos effects, a process that is typically much faster than traditional room correction software.
A notable innovation within LG’s FlexConnect system is “Sound Follow,” a feature that utilizes ultra-wideband technology. This technology allows the system to dynamically adjust the audio’s “sweet spot” based on the listener’s precise position within the room. This promises a more consistent and engaging audio experience, regardless of where you are seated.
LG has stated that the Sound Suite supports an impressive 27 distinct speaker configurations, ranging from a simple stereo pair to the full multi-channel setup. This adaptability caters to a wide array of user needs and room sizes, allowing for a tailored audio solution. The company plans to provide hands-on demonstrations of the system at CES 2026, with further details on customization options expected to be revealed.
